About Us

We are a group of Journalism and Media Studies students from Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa.

We are a reference point of health information in Makana – a repository of cool, left-field health content mixed with cutting-edge health reports, policies and reviews.

Why do we exist? To uncover the unusual and interesting health stories, to connect organisations and people interested and invested in changing the face of healthcare in Makana. We want to start a conversation about health in Makana with you.

Aims:

  • monitoring public health facilities
  • investigating facilitation of healthcare services, in both the private and public sphere
  • collaborating with NGOs, health institutions, organisations and the people of Makana
  • exploring health in all its forms; conventional and alternative
